Athleticats provides online resources and free information to help parents and high school student athletes understand the college recruiting process. Our service includes the creation of an individual website where college coaches can learn more about the student athlete. This website includes photos, videos and other information college coaches want to know.
Athleticats president/owner Kay Kasamoto started her involvement in athletics when her son was five years old, playing AYSO soccer. When her son was in the fourth grade and took an interest in volleyball, she tried to learn as much as she could about that sport and sought the guidance of Jon Stanley, a master volleyball player and coach. Eventually Kasamoto became one of the assistant coaches at the Hawaii Jr. Volleyball club.
For the past three years, Kasamoto served as the team parent of Henry J. Kaiser High School’s Boy’s Volleyball team. Each year, Kasamoto took video of her son and his team members in action, recorded stats, created edited highlight videos, and ran the team’s website/blog and Facebook page. Now that her son no longer plays high school sports, Kasamoto is ready to take on a new challenge – to provide guidance to Hawaii high school athletes and their parents, and create a presentation website for athletes to market his or herself.
Kasamoto utilizes her talents in web design, marketing, and social media to help student athletes get noticed by college coaches. She has a journalism degree from the University of Hawaii, has worked in promotions at PBS Hawaii and in advertising and web design at Hawaii Pacific University. Kasamoto currently works as a sales assistant at the Honolulu Star-Advertiser. She is a member of the Social Media Club and Femfessionals.
